mamaellen Love your voice, how it blends with the pedal steel especially, and the other instrumentation. Such a variety of sounds and emotions. Easy and interesting listening, makes me want to dance and sing along🥰

One Day 04:16
Go back, there's nothing you can do about that, Go back, the only one talking talk's back, Go back inside you so deep inside you One day in your life, Shouldn't be a problem One day in your life, Shouldn't cause you pain Because it's one day that you might, Never be around here And I'll never ever see you again One day in your life, you don't have to worry One day in your life, you don't have to cry Because it's one day that you might Never be around here And I'll never ever see you alive One Day One Day One day in your life, You feel something in you One day in your life, Your heart will fill with fear Because it's one day that you might, Never be around here And I'll never ever see you alive One Day One Day Get back there's nothing you can do about that, go back The only one talking talk's back, goes back inside you much so inside you One Day One Day

Autumn Sun 05:23
As the days get colder And the nights get long And the coyotes howl their hungry song I’ll be thinking of the autumn sun High bush getting higher, gotta stack that wood Missing your little ray of sunshine, but babe the times been good, And you can’t take this city for much longer anyway Heading back to the wild wild woods, home to the Eastern Cape As the days get colder And the nights get long And the coyotes howl their hungry song I’ll be thinking of the autumn sun What am I gonna do, when you fly away from here? Dive deep back into my work and get on with my years Nobody’s ever warmed me up or dried me off so well Or kept me safe in comfort as my flesh began to swell As the days get colder And the nights get long And the coyotes howl their hungry song I’ll be thinking of the autumn sun Those blueberries and chanterelles ain’t gonna pick themselves And I am off to catch a wind and dawn a painted shell I can’t take this city for much longer anyway Heading out to live a dream we’ll meet again someday As the days get colder And the nights get long And the coyotes howl their hungry song I’ll be thinking of the autumn sun

I’m sure you’ve found Somebody new I can tell by your empties Either that, or your drinking for two But I still reach out And pray you’ll reach back for me I’m cutting the cords, But you’ll always be someone to me And I still love the way (I still love the way) You get that look in your eye (that look in your eyes) Like when we were laughing and dancing And losing our minds But I still reach out (I still reach out) And pray you’ll reach back for me I’m cutting the cords But you’ll always be someone to me Ooooo-yiihooo-yihooo Ooooo-yiihooo-yihooo-ooooooo Oooo I guess we’ll be friends (I guess we’ll be friends) It’s so hard to pretend (so hard to pretend) That I don’t want a second chance to get on my knees And beg you take me back But I know that ain’t right And I’m too tired to fight For a heart that’s so guarded And may as well never be mine Ooooo-yiihooo-yihooo Ooooo-yiihooo-yihooo-ooooooo They say I’ll find Somebody knew But waking up next to them Won’t be like sleeping with you So I still reach out And pray you’ll reach back for me I’m cutting the cords But you’ll always be someone to me

The Wind 04:35
She’s defined not by where she’s going But defined by where she’s been Diminishing to delight, Then picking up a storm. She’ll blow through your bones In the coldest cold, And she can keep you dry, She can keep you warm And although, she can be predicted She is not, to be restricted To such diction, of her, Direction and speed Commanding the waves, and hence my day She teeters on a line of enemy and friend Keep your eyes on her If there’s anything you can do Keep your eyes on her If there’s anything you can do And she’ll keep her heart on you Lord knows she’ll cut you nice and deep She’ll sweep the best of you off your feet And she’ll come back, and back again, An absence of sound when she’s not around You feeling like somethings missin’ Keep your eyes on her If there’s anything you can do Keep your eyes on her If there’s anything you can do And she’ll keep her heart on you

about

Representing the fall season, “The Wind” is the second EP in a series of four mini albums to be released seasonally over the next year. An ode to letting go starting with a rocking cover of 54-40's "One Day", moving into art-country soaking up the last of the "Autumn Sun", "Cutting the Cords" of heartbreak in a swooning his & her duet, and finishing with a smooth exit as "The Wind" blows in.

about

Sarah Osborne Victoria, British Columbia

Sarah's sultry voice is a colourful velvet painting in a second-hand store. Exotic, dark, and textured, it beckons us, in its nostaglia, to bring it home and hang it on the wall, to remind us of a time that was, and a part of ourselves that is sweet, simple, and real. ... more
